LG Washer Repair — What We Cover
LG's washer lineup is headlined by their WM series front-loaders with TurboWash 360, AI DD (Direct Drive motor that senses fabric type), and steam cycles. The WT series top-loaders use an impeller — no center agitator — and hold more laundry per load. The flagship TwinWash system stacks a full-size front-loader above a compact LG WashTower pedestal washer for two simultaneous loads.
Chicago Star Appliance repairs all LG washer models across Chicago and the Northwest suburbs. Error codes, drainage problems, abnormal noise, and door-lock failures are the calls we get most, and we carry common LG washer parts for same-visit resolution.
Common LG Washer Problems We Fix
LE Error Code
The LE code on WM series front-loaders means the motor locked up. The most common cause is a failed hall sensor, a seized drum bearing, or overloading. We test the motor system and replace what failed — not everything.
OE Error Code (Not Draining)
OE is a drain fault. Usually a clogged drain pump filter, kinked drain hose, or a failed drain pump motor. We clean the filter first and test the pump before ordering any parts.
Loud During Spin
A worn drum bearing creates a loud grinding or roaring on spin that gets worse over time. On LG front-loaders, bearing replacement is a significant job — but far cheaper than a new machine.
Door Won't Lock or Open
A failed door latch or door lock assembly prevents the cycle from starting or the door from releasing after the cycle. Both are replaceable components we keep on hand.
UE Error Code (Unbalanced Load)
Persistent UE errors that don't resolve with rebalancing can indicate worn suspension rods, a damaged drum spider, or an uneven installation. We check all three.
Leaking Water
LG front-loaders most often leak from the door boot seal or detergent dispenser housing. Top-loaders typically leak from inlet valve connections or the pump. We trace the source and fix it properly.
