LG Oven & Range Repair — What We Cover

LG's range lineup features their ProBake Convection system — a rear-mounted bake element combined with a convection fan for more even heat distribution than traditional bottom-element designs. LSE series slide-in electric and LRE freestanding electric ranges are the most common models we see, with LRG gas models rounding out the lineup. Newer ranges include InstaView oven windows and Wi-Fi for remote preheat.

Chicago Star Appliance services all LG oven and range models across Chicago and the Northwest suburbs. Igniter failures, bake element burnouts, and temperature inconsistencies are the most frequent calls — and we carry common LG range parts for first-visit resolution.

Common LG Oven & Range Problems We Fix

Oven Not Heating

On LRE and LSE electric models, a burned-out ProBake bake element or broil element is the most common cause. On LRG gas models, a failed igniter or gas valve won't let the oven light. We carry these parts and resolve most cases same-visit.

Gas Burner Won't Ignite

Continuous clicking with no flame usually means a cracked igniter electrode, clogged burner ports, or a failed spark module. We diagnose which part broke and replace only that.

Uneven Baking or Temperature Swings

A failing oven temperature sensor (thermistor), worn convection fan motor, or ProBake element that's partially failing can create hot spots and uneven baking. Temperature testing confirms the cause.

Electric Burner Not Working

A surface element that won't heat — or only heats on one setting — has a burned-out element, failed infinite switch, or wiring issue. Standard replacement work we handle routinely.

Error Codes (F2, F3, F9)

LG ranges show codes like F2 (oven temp too high), F3 (oven sensor open), and F9 (door lock fault). We trace each to the component that actually failed and fix it properly.

Control Panel or Display Issues

Unresponsive touch controls, a blank display, or erratic behavior on ThinQ-connected ranges often traces to a control board or touch panel failure — both replaceable components.
