Frigidaire Range & Oven Repair — What We Cover
Frigidaire's range lineup covers gas and electric in all three tiers. A standout feature is No-Preheat Air Fry — available on Gallery and Professional models — which uses a dedicated convection fan mode to air fry directly in the oven without a separate appliance. Other notable features include Smudge-Proof stainless finishes on Gallery models, Quick Boil burners, and True Convection with a third heating element and rear fan for even baking results.
Chicago Star Appliance services all Frigidaire ranges and ovens across Chicago and the Northwest suburbs. Bake element and igniter failures are the most common calls, followed by F-code diagnosis and convection fan repairs.
Common Frigidaire Oven & Range Problems We Fix
Oven Not Heating
Bake element on electric and igniter on gas are the two most common Frigidaire oven heating failures. The bake element is testable through the oven interior — we check resistance values before ordering parts. Igniters that glow orange but don't open the gas valve are also common on older Frigidaire gas ovens.
Air Fry Function Not Working
Air Fry on Frigidaire Gallery and Professional models uses the convection fan at a specific speed and temperature. A failed convection fan motor stops the Air Fry function even if the oven itself heats normally. We test the fan motor and control circuit separately.
Gas Burner Won't Ignite
Cracked igniter, clogged burner ports, or a failed spark module. We clean the burner assembly first, then replace the igniter or spark module only if cleaning doesn't resolve the problem.
F Error Codes
Frigidaire ranges use F codes — F10 is a runaway temperature fault, F11 is a shorted key, F30 is an open probe circuit, F31 is a shorted probe. We identify the component driving the fault and repair it correctly.
Uneven Baking
A failing temperature sensor, partial bake element failure, or convection fan issues cause uneven baking results. We run temperature tests at multiple set points to confirm the cause before ordering parts.
Self-Clean and Door Lock Issues
Door won't lock for self-clean, or door stuck locked after completing the cycle. The door latch motor assembly and thermal limiter are the typical Frigidaire range door lock components. We handle all door lock and self-clean repair calls.
