Frigidaire Dishwasher Repair — What We Cover

Frigidaire dishwashers are available across all three tiers. Base models cover reliable core features including multiple wash cycles and a plastic tub. Frigidaire Gallery upgrades to the OrbitClean wash system — a rotating spray arm at the rear of the tub that provides better coverage than standard multi-arm systems — along with a stainless tub and the DishSense technology that automatically adjusts the wash cycle based on soil level. Frigidaire Professional adds the premium appearance and larger capacity.

Chicago Star Appliance services all Frigidaire dishwashers across Chicago and the Northwest suburbs. Drain pump failures, OrbitClean spray arm blockages, and door latch issues are the most common calls.

Common Frigidaire Dishwasher Problems We Fix

Not Draining

Drain pump motor failure or a clogged sump/filter area. Frigidaire dishwashers with OrbitClean can accumulate debris around the rear spray arm mounting point. We check the entire drain path before ordering a pump motor.

OrbitClean Not Rotating

The OrbitClean spray arm is a differentiating Gallery feature that can fail if the bearing gets clogged with food debris or mineral deposits. We remove, clean, and test the OrbitClean assembly — replacement is straightforward if cleaning doesn't resolve it.

Dishes Not Getting Clean

Clogged upper or lower spray arm holes, low water temperature, or a failing wash motor impeller. We inspect the spray arm and filter condition, then test water temperature and wash motor flow before diagnosing the control system.

Door Latch Failure

Door latch switch failure prevents the dishwasher from starting. On Gallery top-control models, the latch also supports the control board housed in the door. We test the latch switch and board independently.

Leaking

Door gasket, float switch overfill, or pump seal failure. We identify the exact source and replace only the failed component — most Frigidaire dishwasher leaks trace to a single wear component.

Not Drying

Frigidaire Gallery dishwashers use a heating element and fan system for drying. We test both components along with the rinse aid dispenser — all three affect drying performance on Gallery and Professional models.
