Bosch Dishwasher Repair — What We Cover

Bosch makes some of the most consistently well-reviewed dishwashers in the US market. The full lineup runs from the 100 Series (entry-level, still very capable) through the 800 Series with Crystal Dry (zeolite minerals that generate heat during drying for genuinely dry plastic) and AutoAir (door pops open automatically at the end of the cycle). All Bosch dishwashers use condensation drying rather than a heating element — a critical detail for diagnosing drying complaints.

Bosch dishwashers also feature AquaStop flood protection and very quiet operation (38–46 dBA depending on series). Chicago Star Appliance handles the full Bosch dishwasher lineup across Chicago and the Northwest suburbs.

Common Bosch Dishwasher Problems We Fix

E15 Error Code (Flood Sensor)

Water got into the base pan and tripped the AquaStop flood sensor. The machine locks itself out on purpose. We tilt it, clear the water, find the source of the leak, and get it running again. Ignoring E15 leads to bigger problems.

E24 Error Code (Not Draining)

Nine times out of ten it is a clogged drain filter or a kinked hose. We pull it apart, clear the blockage, and test the pump. If the pump motor has failed, we replace it. Not glamorous work, but it beats buying a new unit.

Dishes Come Out Wet

There is no heating element in a Bosch. It uses condensation drying, which needs rinse aid to actually work. If the dispenser is full and dishes are still wet, we check the dispenser door, the drying fan (500/800 Series), and the AutoAir mechanism.

Not Cleaning Well

Spray arm blockages, a weak circulation pump, or a clogged inlet screen all reduce wash performance. We test the full wash circuit and clean or replace what's degraded.

Door Latch or Hinge Issues

The Bosch door latch mechanism or hinge springs can fail, preventing the door from closing properly or causing it to fall open too fast. Both are standard replaceable components.

Control Panel Not Responding

Touch controls that stop registering input or a display that goes blank often trace to a control board or front panel module. We test before replacing to confirm the actual failure point.
